  We say
   Administration
Admin Instruction needed earlier, particularly for Reserve Units.
We will aim to distribute earlier and via both formal and informal channels.
Better streamlining of the arrival registration processes needed.
For most this went well. However, we will strive to streamline the process further.
  Accommodation
Some of the accommodation (accm) was of a poor standard
Agreed, it is variable. Unfortunately, there is limited accm in Sandhurst and we need over 250 bed- spaces. Most attendees were allocated a single room but there is no en suite facility.
Limited Officers Mess and WO/Sgts Mess accm available.
Agreed, it is limited and only the most senior of both messes had rooms in their respective messes. Unfortunately, this is unlikely to improve this year.
Confirmation of accm was not given prior to arrival.
Accm should be requested via your Unit and we will confirm with them. We will secure sufficient accm for all who request it.
   Catering
Catering for all ranks was provided in the dining Hall of Victory Building. Comments: Lack of vegetarian options; More healthy options at lunch preferred.
Point taken. We did receive lots of positive comments about the food. However, we will aim to improve choice and healthy options for this year.
 Costs
Cost (£25) too high for JNCOs.
– A ‘pippage’ system suggested.
Costs were used to cover refreshments, meals, the evening buffet and disco. We are investigating ways to reduce costs.
  Evening functions
Two separate functions held on evening of 14 May 15, a Regimental Dinner in FASC and an All Ranks buffet in Victory building. Comment: The overall consensus was that a combined event would be preferred.
The Regimental dinner was used to host some very senior guests and was well received. Your feedback is noted though and we will hold one All Ranks function in the form of a Barn dance or Ceilidh this year.
So what’s the plan for this year?
The newly appointed Chief Nursing Officer (Army) Colonel Karen Irvine RRC L/QARANC extends a warm invitation to all serving and retired members of the Corps and our military employed civilian nurses and healthcare assistants to join us for this year’s Symposium on TBC.
The venue will once again be the Churchill Hall, Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. At time of writing (Jan 16) the fine details of the programme are still being developed. However, this promises to be yet another excellent symposium and, just as importantly, a great opportunity to catch up with old friends, make new ones and to be inspired.
