The chairman also spoke. The evening continued with live entertain- ment compared by Diane Lee Carol introducing female vocal- ist Tracey Jordan and the Parkhouse Dancers, for some reason the bar was not so crowded when the dancers came on, wonder why? The raffle was well supported and I would like to thank all those who donated prizes and bought tickets; your support is very much appreciated.
In August a number of the branch went on Home Headquarters Battlefield Tour to Mons which I have no doubt is covered else where in this journal, enough to say, we had a fine trip blessed with good weather and a different look at the Great War, before the years of trench warfare we generally associate with that con- flict had come into place.
Clive and Judith’s Wedding
After thankfully a number a relatively quiet years, the recruiting sergeant for the Senior Squadron has been busy this year with a number sadly being posted to that squadron. These included Mr Roy Backhouse, Mr Gerry Hutchcroft and Mr Gordon Smiles. We also pass on our condolences to Mr Malc Scothern whose wife Betty sadly passed on this last year. We extend our sympa- thies to all their families and friends.
Just before I bid you all farewell, I should also mention that the chairman and Judith nee Barritt married in July last year, cer- tainly one way of ensuring you hang on to the members of the committee! With thanks to the committee for their continuing support and hard work to ensure the branch runs smoothly. I take my leave and look forward to greeting you all in Blackpool on the 4th April 2020, where our warm welcome and hospitality will be waiting for all.
