NVS National Championships 2019
We look forward to welcoming Exhibitors from Mon 29th July and Visitors on Tues 30th, Weds 31st July and Thurs 1st August to the 2019 National Championships at the New Forest Showground, Brockenhurst, SO42 7QH.
Please be aware that traffic to the New Forest Show is generally heavy and can cause lengthy delays getting into the showground.
If you are staging exhibits on Tuesday morning, please leave PLENTY of time to allow for traffic. Due to the time pressures on judging and the need to open the show on time, we will be unable to make concessions for late comers. Staging will finish at 8am prompt.
Staging is 6am-11pm Monday and
5am-8am Tuesday. Please be reminded the showground gates are closed from 11pm Monday until 5am Tuesday.
It would be helpful to know if exhibitors intend to stage their exhibits on Monday either very early or very late with the intention of staging overnight. This is for the purposes of staffing the veg tent. Please advise Barbara Gould via your entry form or email me on alison_clarke@conair.com, it would be greatly appreciated.
Overnight stagers arriving before 11pm Monday will be given a wristband so they can move freely between the car park and veg tent.
Exhibitors and their partners are cordially invited to a social evening on Tuesday
30th July from 6pm at Brokenhurst Manor
Golf Club, Sway Rd, Brockenhurst SO42 7SG. T: 01590 623332. www.brokenhurst- manor.org.uk. There will be a free buffet
with entertainment and a paying bar with extension to midnight. It is a ticketed event and exhibitors can specify if tickets are required on the Entry Form page in the Show Schedule. Please send to Entries Secretary Barbara Gould as specified in the schedule.
Exhibitors wishing to collect their entries on Thursday can gain entry to the show after 4pm without the need for a ticket.
Anyone who missed the Overnight Staging, Purple Gate car park, Interbranch Competition, Trugs and AGM information in the last issue of Simply Vegetables, please refer to Vol 25 Part 2, page 7.

What has changed?
An additional section on Photographs has been added. Which says;
Photographs - To aid communication, the NVS depicts photographs of some
of our key officers within our Simply Vegetables Magazine. We may also provide photos of individuals who write an article for the magazine (if they are happy
to provide us with a photo). Photographs of individuals, e.g. prize winners, award recipients, groups supporting stands, group visits etc, may also be depicted
in our Magazine, on our Web site and/
or facebook, Twitter and Flickr accounts. We may also post general photographs from events, talks, seminars, shows, competitions, which could contain members of the public. Should you not wish your photo or your child’s photo
to appear on any of these items, please contact the National Secretary. (details at the end of this document).
Vacancy for NVS Gift Aid Co-ordinator
Following the recent announcement from Robert Miller that he is standing down as the NVS Gift Aid Co-ordinator, a vacancy has now arisen for new Gift Aid Co-ordinator. This is a non-executive position. The candidate ideally will be an accountant or have a financial background, and due to the nature of the position, will also have good contacts within HMRC. The NVS benefits circa £3,700 per annum from gift aid from our membership subscriptions however, we can only claim for those members who have signed a Gift Aid Declaration within the past 5 years, and who have actually renewed their NVS membership in the previous calendar year.
We would all like to thank Robert for his hard work and dedication in raising these monies over the years and wish him well for the future.
All enquiries in the first instance should be directed to Norman Dickinson, Southern Branch Chairman at chair.nvs-sb@outlook.com, telephone 07792 296422.
As you can see from the above advert we get a substantial amount of money from Gift Aid so it is important that we fill this vacancy. If you know anyone who can do this type of work please get them to contact Norman. – Ed.
