CATASTROPHIC BLEEDING
If you are unable to stop the bleeding because of the severity, then you will need to apply direct pressure continually and then pack the wound with haemostatic dressings, or apply a tourniquet.
It must be emphasised that further training is required for First Aiders in respect of using haemostatic dressings or tourniquets.
