Board of Education
The Board of Education for Atchison Public Schools is comprised of seven local residents who are elected to four-year terms.
Board meetings are held the second Monday of each month and are rebroadcast on Atchison Educational Channel 14. All regular meetings commence at 7:00 p.m. and are held in the Board of Education office at 626 Commercial Street, Atchison, KS, except during the months of October, December, February, and April. These meetings will be held on-site at various school facilities, as follows: October (Atchison Elementary School, 825 N. 17th Street); December (Central School, 215 N. 8th Street); February (Atchison Middle School, 301 N. 5th Street); and April (Atchison High School, 1500 W. Riley Street). Special meetings may be called as needed. Agendas are available at the Board of Education office, at each board meeting or may be viewed online at www.usd409.net. All board meetings are open to the public and visitors are welcome.
