Introduction
Who does GDPR affect?
GDPR not only applies to organisations located within the EU - it also applies to organisations based outside the EU if they offer goods or services to (or hold the personal data of) EU data subjects.
What is personal data?
According to GDPR, personal data is described as any information related to an identified or identifiable natural personal (data subject). Examples of personal data include name, address, medical records and CVs. Breaches of sensitive personal data, such as religious beliefs, political opinions and sexual orientation, are subject to more severe penalties than personal data.
