Pacific Northwest Section Leader Kathy L. Ferguson gave a
presentation on 16 February to 27 senior high school students at
Everett High School in Everett, Washington. The presentation
included a lab where students made robotic arms from materials
provided by The Boeing Company. Ferguson’s presentation
described her career as a materials engineer, and how she
combines both failure analysis and NDT to determine the root
cause of component failures in service. She also described various
careers in NDT and invited the students to come to a Section
meeting and to check out the Section website to learn more. PACIFIC NORTHWEST SECTION
