5. Inflight Catering Service
- Is the process of providing meals and beverages to airline passengers as part of airline’s in-flight services.
- Hygiene is very important and the airline must ensure
that they provide healthy and safe meals for consumption by airline passengers and crew members.
- Ensure in-flight meals are served at the right time at an acceptable cost to the airline and of high quality.
- Different classes enjoy different choices of meals available.
What do they do:
- Identifying passenger and their needs - Food production
- Meal assembly
- Storage
- Loading and transportation to aircraft - Cleaning up
Fun Fact:
The two pilots in the cockpit eat two different meals to lessen the risk of food poisoning happening between them and also ensures that at least one pilot is still able to fly the plane.
