FLIGHT OPERATIONS The next area we will be looking at is Flight Operations. In this area, some of the main responsibilities include: - Creating flight operations policies, procedures and standards to meet all necessary requirements - Monitoring all areas of route flying - Ensuring flight safety, efficiency and standardization Flight Operations can be further split into four departments handling different aspects. 1. Air Traffic and Safety Department What do they do? - Develop and promote safe, profitable and punctual flow of air traffic from departure to arrival - Develop programmes for safe aircraft operations - Maintain information on airports and airways that may affect operating policies and procedures NOTE: AIRWAYS REFERS TO ROADS IN THE SKIES!
