An international airport may serve as a primary or secondary hub. A hub is an airport that airlines use outside their head office. Flights land at these airports for a connection or stopover. Passengers may choose to fly CONNECTING flights instead of DIRECT flights if they do not like to sit in airplanes for a long period of time. These passengers are also known as transfer passengers.
