FUN FACT: There are 4 work positions under Aerodrome control: movement planner, ground movement controller, runway movement controller and aerodrome watch manager. They are responsible for different areas. For example, runway movement controller is in charge of ALL runway operations! Next, there are Apppproach controllers. They are located underground, in places like bomb shelters. Due to this, they are unable to see the actual aircraft. If they cannot use their eyes to monitor the aircraft, what do they use? The answer is radar! Approach controllers provide radar services to aircraft within the Terminal Control Area. Lastly, we have area controllers.
