Thanks Jenny for your account of your bubble weekend and please pass on my best wishes to Peter who I remember well. Love that you had to feign interest in his stamp collection.
Re travelling to school, yes Val I think I nearly always trudged up Barnet Hill from Raydean Road (behind the Odeon). It wasn’t that far, just steep and of course I always loved the walk home downhill, especially on Wednesday afternoons, and sometimes chatting to friends. My parents always got up early, probably because my father had to catch 2 buses to get to his office job with Ward Lock book publishers in Edmonton. (We always got Wonder books for Christmas.). Money was very tight but I think I probably had a bus fare in reserve in case it rained very heavily. I had no idea some of you had such complicated journeys to get to school.
I cut Malcolm's hair again this afternoon - I’m getting quite good at it having watching some online videos. We are reluctant to go to our local hairdresser when it opens next week as it is a very small salon. Meanwhile my hair is growing longer (see photo) but not as long we when some of you first knew me with my waist length plait in 1957 (I’m fourth from left in the front.)

Still lots of interesting emails coming my way! Thanks. Oh, I feel for you having temps in the 30s! I find the heat very difficult. You look very cool in your lovely garden, Isabel.
Steve in LA sent a message today “It is somewhat entertaining to watch how a few cases is sending Victoria in a tailspin. We average 20K new cases a day in California!!” We have 1000 ADF personnel arriving today to help us out. It is all to do with the statistical increase in numbers and the need to protect the rest of Australia.........NSW Isabel!
Yes Judy, Pauline Duffy was on the train and I remember that she got a cinder in her eye which was painful. Sandra on the 303A was PARKER.
Glenda what a shock to delete Version 3. You must have worked hard to retrieve it. Your student, when he gets back here, will be guarded by the ADF for two weeks in isolation.
Hope you are enjoying your increasing freedoms.

Oh Maggie, don’t feel sorry for us - it’s just heavenly at the moment and it rarely gets too hot - if it does you just move into the shade. And in any case it’s cooling off again at the weekend
