Well - I really ought to go and do something 'useful', although psychologically once it is nearing 4.00 pm I find it hard to enthuse myself about anything except perhaps a cup of tea and then Pointless!
Do all keep well and safe.

In these dark times, a friend sent me a link to an appropriate Tom Lehrer song; (‘I got it from Agnes’) I had not listened to him
for decades but find him quite witty.

Hello to you all, lovely idea to get in touch with us all, Val, thank you.
Peter and I are doing well, and we have a lot going for us. Nice big house, and a very large garden, and each other for company. And sunny weather so far. Our next door neighbour does our shopping. Both our son and son-in-law are working from home without too much difficulty and our daughter and daughter-in-law are at home and coping well (so far!) with two children each. I do go out in my car, to post stuff or recycle, around here it’s very easy to pick your time and not see a soul. (Also, we’re still basking in the joy our fourth grandchild brings us.) Having said all that, it is a ‘making the best of a bad job’ situation. I have a few friends with ‘underlying health conditions’ who are really fearful of becoming infected, and my bubble bursts after phone calls with them. I don’t find it easy when life is uncertain and precarious. That’s how it feels to me, not all the time, but it’s there.
So stay safe everyone and stay in touch if it helps. My love to you all, dear friends

Val that is a lovely idea, so hello to everyone from the land of OZ
We have been following the events in the UK via the BBC daily news which comes across live at 6.00 am. Lovely to see everyone thanking the NHS. These health care staff are the real heroes, and how they keep going I do not know.
My broadband connection has only just started working properly for the first time today, so I am replying while I have a little internet access. If this broadband state continues - probably brought about by heavy usage in the neighbourhood - I shall feel really isolated..
At least the sun has been shining, so I have been tidying my little front garden rather than the house - and reading a biography of Clem Attlee (a much under-rated PM).
