Hi yes - you are right - scrubs used to be washed and reused. Not sure about the masks though. It could be that nowadays laundry is not done on site and is contracted out. Catering is. Doctors don't wear coats or long sleeves now because of infection - MRSA etc. Also with children they got white coat syndrome so no-one wore coats at Birmingham Children's or in other paediatric departments elsewhere.
Some friends are making up drawstring bags for medics/nurses etc to put their PPEs in so they must be planning on reusing the gear for more than one shift.
I think I will wrap a scarf around my lower face and I could then pretend to be the lone ranger and also keep safe!
