Apparently she visited Julian of Norwich and they spent a couple of days together. What is it about East Anglia? And Religion? All those churches - most now alone in the middle of a field. So glad you’re genning up on the technology. I’ve just discovered that I do have a Dropbox. Found some stuff there that I’d didn’t know I had. Keep going! We’ve all got to keep going, haven’t we?
As for dictating into your computer without having to type it all in by hand – Wow! I am impressed. You have to be articulate to do that, though. I have to spend hours checking anything I’ve written to make sure it’s correct. That’s why I spent so many years as a book editor, I suppose. It does slow you down, though.
Better stop rambling on. Not sure I should be copying us all into this exchange, but what the hell?!

Copy everyone into everything - otherwise we might miss something vital. Glad to know about Julian - like the ignorant I am I assumed with a name like that it was male - so I am a little less ignorant than I was. Participated in a Zoom Quiz with members of my choir last night - a bit
😀
chaotic with 39 participants but good fun. I came second

Congratulations, Jenny! Second out of 39 is pretty fantastic. I wonder what the questions were. Some grandparents have been sending their grandchildren quizzes – to keep in contact. Maybe that’s something we could all be doing. Age appropriate, of course. What’s the name of our Prime Minister? What year is it? (But they sound like the sort of questions doctors ask to check whether you’ve got dementia.) Oh dear!

I tried to link in with a Zoom meeting on Monday but I don't think I have a microphone - I can get YouTube and iPlayer okay on loudspeakers - is a microphone inbuilt into the machine? I was only going to be an empty box as I have no camera. I could see Dave saying "the box is Janet Simmonds" but no sound! I should learn lip reading! Can I buy a microphone?
East Anglia was quite a "holy" place - I remember visiting the shrine at Walsingham one year - not quite what we thought it might be - I seem to remember also visiting a Russian church there with a lot of icons and a very peaceful Catholic church too. I guess the shrine must now be Anglican but not sure.
I do enjoy reading everyone's thoughts at this time.

Excuse me butting in but I wondered if I could help. You must have a microphone built in to whatever you are using (PC? iMac? iPad? Tablet? laptop) if you can hear YouTube and iPlayer. If the problem is just on Zoom then a) when you want/are asked to ‘Join’ a meeting then don’t click on anything that says ‘Don’t connect to audio’ or ’Turn off my video’. Once in Zoom there’s a little microphone symbol on the right bottom corner. If this has a slash through it, click to make the slash disappear (i.e. to turn the audio on) and you should both hear the other people and they should hear you. The Host can ‘mute’ you but only you can turn your audio on or off. Incidentally, if you don’t want, as in Jenny’s email, people to see your untidy house, go to the bottom of the Zoom screen on the left hand corner and click on something - I’m not in a meeting so I can’t see it, but you can choose your background. I always have the video of the Bahamas, with the wind playing through the palm trees and the surf rolling up the beach!
