Hi Jenny, I did not go to the Cheddar Gorge trip either but did go to the Alfriston trip and the only thing I remember is that Valerie Barrowman told Miss Grimsey that she looked ravishing when she appeared in her white nightie!!

(To Ruth) Sorting through photos I came across this taken in July 1952 at my 7th birthday party. In the front row you will recognise (l to r) yourself, Annabelle Howell, (my 2 cousins) me with 2 ribbons, my sister (another cousin) Christine Berry and Annette Byrne. David Anderson is 2nd row 2nd from the left - all Cromer Roadians!
I might forward to the others to make them smile!😀
To all of us: I thought you might be amused to see the first photo I have of me with any of you - Ruth - at my 7th birthday party!! As you can tell I have been doing a bit of sorting out and our recent conversations made me think about school links in general and I found this. It is noteworthy that on my first day at QEGGS in September 1956 I called for Ruth on my way up the Meadway (and also further up the road for Elisabeth Jackson) - my friends from Primary School.

Oh Jen, you could have started yet more stories and photos! How about a competition as to who can go back the furthest? Val, do you still have the photo your mum produced of you and I aged about 4 I think at Ruby Roper’s dancing school? Whatever next!

I thought that this was just so true.... One minute Boris is encouraging us to use our common sense and the next Matt Hancock is giving those fatuous instructions about meeting someone in a crowded park - but not 2 people, heaven forbid (even if they were with the first person - should they go away?) and certainly not in a quiet garden, in case one hasn’t the common sense to avoid walking through the house on the way to the garden.
I think I’ve worked it out... (I haven’t written this – I was sent it.)
* 4 year olds can go to school but university students who have paid for the tuition they haven’t had and the accommodation they aren’t living in, can’t go to university.
* I can go to school with many 4 year olds that I’m not related to but can’t see one 4 year old that I am related to.
