Thursday Morning Delegate Session Proposed MFB Bylaw Amendments Relating to Collegiate Farm Bureaus
The following amendments would allow for the official establishment of Collegiate Farm Bureaus:
Article IV Membership. Insert new section 3, and renumber the following items in that Article:
Section 3. Collegiate Membership. College, university or trade school students, at least 18 years of age, interested in membership may become collegiate members by paying the dues of the Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter, in good standing, at their place of education. Collegiate members must be pursuing undergraduate degrees or certifications.
Article V. Local Units. Insert new paragraph:
Collegiate members of this association may, for purposes of representation in this association, organize a local unit hereof, to be designated as a Collegiate Farm Bureau. Any Collegiate Farm Bureau, whose members are collegiate members of this association, shall be deemed, for all purposes of membership, including the right to participate in the conduct of the affairs of this association, a recognized collegiate unit of this association. A collegiate Farm Bureau is not entitled to voting delegates under Article VI of these bylaws.
Article X. Section 1. Insert new paragraph:
The annual dues required to be paid by collegiate members of this association shall be determined, assessed and collected by the Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter, in good standing, at a member’s place of education. Collegiate members will be collegiate members of the county Farm Bureau of their choice.
