In the educational field, feedback is a system through which the teaching-learning

processes can be significantly optimized, for which it is necessary that the student and the teacher
become involved in a reciprocal manner. Feedback can be oral or written, individual or group,

face-to-face or remote. Proving feedback on academic writing is an essential tool that can
encourage students to be committed, to be motivated and to be effective at the time of writing.

The feedback teachers give to students show their involvement in their work. As a result,
students show greater commitment when they write. According to Hattie and Timperley (2007),

feedback seeks to make students aware of the discrepancy between what they understood and what
they should have understood, or how they have performed to meet the learning objective of each

activity. In other words, feedback helps you see the difference between the activity you delivered

and the one that should have been delivered. This way it makes it clearer the next time you write
because you have an idea of things that should be change and what should be kept.

According to investigations carried out by several authors, they affirm that motivation in

the student is key to have a better performance and they showed that when a teacher provides
feedback emphasizing errors and what was done correctly will aid students to analyze their

mistakes which will enhance them to be more motivated to perform better. That is why according

to Evans (2013) he found that feedback is a corrective and motivating tool; which helps the student
to clarify their doubts and as a means to improve their learning at the time of writing.

Through analyzes that have been done for some years, several authors state that feedback

helps the student have a better development at the time of writing and as time passes becoming

more effective. In fact, Lipnevich and Smith (2013) states that "Feedback helps the student to be
more effective at the time of writing, because if he knows his mistakes he will be able to improve

               his writing ability ..."

To sum up, it is important to recognize that feedback is a tool that helps the student to be

more committed, effective and motivated at the time of writing. Due to this, students will have the
opportunity to know their weaknesses and strengths and therefore, can minimize their mistakes

               and maximize their skills.
