Driving down the city streets amidst the noise, the traffic jams, you face chaos: the rising buildings, roadblocks, the bustle of shoppers, demonstrations of the man alone or the crowd against infrastructure work in progress—this is the concert of a city changing and growing disproportionately.
You make a turn to a quieter space and come around to an art gallery; you are forced to pause in a unique atmosphere. All of a sudden, your relationship with the surroundings changes, the noise and the movement ceases, you are with yourself again.
The overwhelming presence of art beckons you to a more intimate perception of life, a thousand objects of art invite you to recall, imagine, observe, and discover the mystery conveyed by each artist, your own sensations and thoughts come into play, and you take the pulse of the sensitivity and development of a country.
Panama has become a hub for multiple supplies and as such, it could honor its role of multiple relationships, by opening the doors to Latin American art and the scope of local art. Giving art a space in our private lives means that we are creating a cultural sensitivity towards the acquisition of art in our homes with the same passion that we wish for exclusive garments or a luxury brand car.
In face of the challenge, our responsibility lies in placing our country in the right position, so that our talents reach the benchmarks, and that Panama be regarded as a destination for seekers of cultural goods. Our interest is focused on Latin American art supply and as part of Latin America, Central America and why not? PANAMA. CARLOS WEIL
