ARTIST PROFILE
I have always been captivated by beauty. Whether I’m gaping at nature or at friends’ sketchbooks pried from their hands, I be- come inspired to recreate my own art. But I always remain frustratingly limited by my inability to recapture the perfect imper- fections of the world. Often I find myself stuck in my work, ready to defenestrate it. And surrounded by proficient, talent- ed classmates, I alone seem to consult my teacher multiple times every class for help. Yet even in my self-doubt as an artist, the art program at Central has taught me that though my artistic voice is but a whisper, it is unique. I’m currently expressing the idea of the “roots and wings” my parents passed on to me: security in morals and flight in love. As I continue to explore art, I hope to learn more about myself and the way I perceive the beauty that surrounds me.
