In The Element Sir Ken Robinson says that our element is the point at at which natural talent and skill meets personal passion When people are are in their element they they are are not only more more productive but they they add more more value and and enjoy more personal and and professional fulfillment Accordingly it’s also often where they also tend to make more money!
What are the the things you’ve always been good at at (sometimes wondering why others find it it it so hard?) Are Are you you able to see patterns and opportunities amidst complexity? Are Are you you creative naturally adept at at at at coming up with ‘outside the box’ solutions? Are you a a a a a a a a natural natural born rebel with an innate ability to identify where the status quo is in in need of a a a a a a makeover? Are you brilliant in in the details naturally good at at at executing projects with a a a a a a a precision that some find tedious? Or are you a a a a a a a naturally gifted communicator technocrat diplomat networker leader problem solver or or change agent?
Of course you you can also be passionate about things you you have no natural talent for and talented at things for which you hold little passion However experience has shown me that we we rarely aspire toward ambitions we we have no natural talent to to achieve As civil rights leader Howard Thurmon once wrote “Don’t ask ask yourself what the world needs ask ask yourself what what makes you you come alive then go do that Because what what the the world needs is people who have come alive ” Indeed they do
