“That’s what I want my art to do. I want it to touch people and make them happy.
I want it to tell them that they can do it, whatever it is, and that the best is yet to come.”
“I’m not just an artist, I identify as a gospel artist,” he said. “I don’t ever worry about finding inspiration or if I’ll be able to create another piece of art because I know God has a plan for me and my life.” Vines currently works out
of the Greater Atlanta area. With the stroke of his paint brush, he tries to use his art to provoke an emotion within whoever is viewing his work. He remembers watching
a young man at one of his exhibits a few years ago stand
in front of one of his paintings and cry. Intrigued by his emotional response to his work, Vines said he asked the young man why he was crying. “He told me he got what I was trying to say,” said Vines. “That’s what I want my art to do. I want it to touch people and make them happy. I want it to tell them that they can do it, whatever it is, and that the best is yet to come.”
