“As far as art and creativity is concerned, we’re contemporary . . . “ – MELANIE MAHONAS”
For the DC exhibition, Adams has high hopes: “Well, my goal really is to see how universal this world really is that love is required, and respect is required no matter where you are, and insight on using very specific people, Martin Luther King Jr., Desmond Tutu and Mandela as my subjects,” he said.
Photographer Joy Meyer said that she’s steering away from what she’s done in the past for this show and creating something completely new.
Meyer said that it will be an “African epic.” Her work is
filled with faultless composition, colors and rule of thirds. Like Fanner, Meyer also grew up with a parent who was an artist. Her father was a photographer and his days working in a studio stayed with young Meyer who grew up to take pictures of her own during her travels. She took it more seriously and went on and studied photojournalism and documentary photography.
“I use my photography as a medium to impact people’s lives and to empower them,” Meyer said.
