The Entertainment
Music is very special to us at Brockhurst and Marlston and so it brings us great pleasure to be able to provide a fantastic array of music and demonstrations for you today.
50 years ago, 1969, the Woodstock festival took place. It was hailed a success, but didn’t ever return as an annual event. It paved the way for a new way to consume music in the form of live music festivals. We might not have Credence Clearwater Revival to headline(!), but we are sure that young and old will enjoy the entertainment that we have selected for the first part of the day, which we have affectionately coined ‘Wood-Brock’!
We have dedicated the middle part of the day to the ‘Young Ones’. Not the song, but rather a chance for local groups to demonstrate their passion. This section also includes a musical interlude by some of the very talented instrumental and vocal teachers of Brockhurst and Marlston House.
At 3.30pm, we would like to invite you to sit back and relax to some fantastic jazz courtesy of the inspirational Mr Cliff Rowley and Friends. We will also be selling scones and jam available at this point from our bar and our roving volunteers.
Then at 4pm, a brief chance for the adults in the crowd to get involved with the tug of war!
Our day culminates with ‘Marlstonbury’. As our Country Fayre is occurring over the Glastonbury weekend, we thought it only fitting to dedicate the second part of the live music entertainment to this event. During our ‘Marlstonbury’ segment, you can enjoy a wide range of contemporary music, celebrating great Pop, Rock, Soul and Blues music.
We hope that there is something for everyone throughout our Fayre. We welcome you to find a comfortable spot, settle down for the day and enjoy all that we have to offer!
