THE U.S. EVENTING ASSOCIATION’S AMERICAN EVENTING CHAMPIONSHIPS
August 27 – September 1
The USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC’s) are the pinnacle of the sport for the national levels. The AEC’s will make history as they celebrate their 16th year while moving to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky in 2019 and 2020. Held annually, the best junior, adult amateur and professional competitors gather to vie for national championship titles at every level from Beginner Novice to Advanced. This ultimate test of horse and rider draws hundreds of horses and riders from around the country to compete for fabulous prizes, a piece of the substantial prize money, and the chance to be named the National Champion at their respective levels.
As a Silver Level Sponsor of the 2019 USEA American Eventing Championships, The Jockey Club will award Thoroughbred Incentive Program (T.I.P.) prizes for all AEC divisions to include coolers, ribbons, and prize money for Champion and Reserve Champion Thoroughbred winners. T.I.P. was created to recognize Thoroughbreds that are exceling in a second career upon completion of their racing career, and the AEC’s lends the optimal platform to recognize those Thoroughbreds that are exceling in eventing. Further, the recognition of Thoroughbreds also rewards the owners and trainers who have chosen to retrain a Thoroughbred.
The 2018 AEC at Colorado Horse Park boasted 450 starters between the Championship and festival divisions. New in 2019, the AEC will 22 divisions (up from 18 in 2018) including the new Modified/Training Championship.
The Advanced division at the AEC will continue to serve as the $60,000 Adequan USEA Advanced Final. To qualify for the $60,000 Adequan USEA Advanced Final at the 2019 AEC, competitors will need to complete a minimum of two events without cross-country jump penalties at any USEA recognized Advanced level horse trials, CCI4*-S (2018 CIC3*), CCI4*-L (2018 CCI3*), CCI5*-L (2018 CCI4*), or the FEI World Equestrian Games during the qualifying period from May 29, 2018 to August 19, 2019.
