This is the most recently acquired among the works by Ganesh Pyne to a non-governmental organization called Rabindra Nagar welfare Association Society during one of the art workshops they had organized. The painting was published in a prominent Bengali newspaper, which commemorates the event.
Pyne’s fascination with the dark blue is evident here too. The color lends a somber environment to the picture, which is further accentuated by the ghastly shadows on the background and the hollowed out face in the foreground.
