Thomas Frye an artist of remarkable talent was a portrait painter in oils, crayon black lead, enamel miniature and ivory. After inventing a formula for porcelain and taking a patent in 1744 he became director/manager of the groundbreaking Bow Porcelain Factory from 1744-1759.
Signed works by Thomas Frye are scarce.
