ARCHES, ZION, FOUR CORNERS GRAND CANYON
l TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8: We leave early this morning on a fabulous trip celebrating the 250th anniversary of the USA! This will be a truly awe inspiring journey. Travel today to Moline, IL for our overnight. If all goes well, we should be able to visit the John Deere Pavillion before checking in at our nearby hotel. L
l WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9: Travel today through Illinois and Indiana. We visit the Great Platte River Arch where you can experience the expansion westward, through the eyes of those who lived it! Stay tonight in Kearney, NE. B
l THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10: We visit a Pony Express Station this morning in Gothenburg, NE. The station is dedicated to “All Pioneers Who Passed This Way to Win and Hold the West.” We will overnight in Estes Park, CO., gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. CL
l FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11: We travel today through Rocky Mountain National Park from east to west along Alpine Trail Ridge Road and stop at the Visitor Center. We are certain to see some wild animals on this scenic drive. Then a visit to Leadville, CO.
for a little shopping time this afternoon, with an overnight in Gunnison, CO. BL
l SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12: A short drive to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison is first this morning. A beautiful drive follows the Million Dollar Highway on our way to Silverton, CO., with an included lunch in this special town and some time for browsing. Later this afternoon we will board the Silverton- Durango Railroad traveling this scenic route to Durango, CO. Our motorcoach will meet us in this famous old western town where we will spend the night. BL
l SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13: We travel to Four Corners located on the Navajo Reservation where Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah meet. You will want to have your picture taken standing in this spot! Next we visit Monument Valley for lunch and a Navajo guided jeep tour through these isolated monoliths, towering as much as 1,000 feet above the valley floor. John Wayne said of this valley this is “Where God put the West.” Many western movies were filmed here. After a great afternoon, we travel to Page, AZ. for a two-night stay. BL
l MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14: Page, AZ is located on the Colorado River. The Glen Canyon Dam backs up the Colorado here to form Lake Powell. After lunch a Native Americanwilldriveusbyfour-wheeljeepto the beautiful Upper Antelope Canyon. We can then walk through the canyon. The entire canyon is at one level – an easy walk. Beams of light radiate down making for spectacular photos. B
