l WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 28, 2024: We depart this morning for Canaan Valley, the highest mountain valley in the east. Nestled among the “High Alleghenies” of WV, it’s a great place to visit this time of the year. We will enjoy a guided tour of The Blackwater falls with a step on guide. The tour typically has three stops with a chance to see Blackwater Falls from handicap trail, chance to see Blackwater Canyon from Pendleton Point Overlook and a shopping opportunity at the quaint Bear Creek Trading Store where you can purchase that keepsake souvenir. Enjoy the spectacular scenery as we drive through the valley and Blackwater Falls State Park. (The most photographed falls in the east – if you don’t count Niagara) on our way Elkins, WV. An included dinner and the Gandy Dancer Theater show this evening. Our overnight stay is at the Holiday Inn Express Elkins. D

Cheat Mountain. There will be a photo stop at the High Falls of the Cheat River before returning to Elkins. Lunch is served during the train ride. Our departure for home after the train ride will see us back in our area mid- evening. BL
