Six international students, formed the band, Still Thinkin’, and performed as a part of their Rock/Pop Ensemble Class at the first annual TGS Fest! From Left to Right, James Shi, Brian He, Jack Huang, Cyrus Chen, Tony Liu, Maxwell Han.
Yuki Wang, Ashley Wang, and Coral Zhai volunteered with Life Skills Coordinator, Gaetana Layton, at H.O.R.S.E. of Connecticut, a rescue and rehabilitation facility for abused and neglected horses. Gaetana reports that the students arrived well prepared and handled each horse with care while they groomed, walked, and fed treats to the horses. Gaetana says, “it was a perfect day with a perfect crew!”
Students celebrated their cultural diversity during International Culture Week. The fun included serving bubble tea and playing ping pong in the cafeteria, salsa dancing lessons, a Global Citizen Workshop, and American Fun and Games such as Jumbo Jenga, cornhole, and Uno.
There was a giant map on the wall in the cafeteria on which students could place stickers to mark the place of their nationality.
International students celebrate Chinese New Year with food, friends, and fun!
The Class of 2018 included 24 graduates from the international program.
