New Open Meetings Act

Poster

In August communities across Nebraska received a complimentary copy of
the Open Meetings Act from the League Association of Risk Management

(LARM). By law, it is required that at least one current copy of the Open
Meetings Act [Nebraska Revised Statutes sections 84-1407—84-1414] be

posted in the meeting room of a public entity and be accessible to the
public.

There was a revision made to the Open Meetings Act in the 2019 Nebraska here was a revision made to the Open Meetings Act in the 2019 Nebraska
State Legislature to allow a board conference call to last up to five hours.

The most recent version of the Open Meetings Act is printed on the poster.
It is in effect as of September 1, 2019. It is advised that those holding

public meetings replace any previous versions with the most recent copy of
the Open Meetings Act at that time.
