     Between 2011 and 2014 the number of people with bank accounts grew in all Central American countries, with the most growth, 23%, in El Salvador.

82.9% of users of financial services are concentrated in Guatemala City, equivalent to 587,366 affiliated mobile customers.
The average amount of transactions completed using this system nationwide is US $85. Monetary deposits are the most demanded service with 51.5%, followed by savings deposits with 26.1%, and the remaining part is credit lines.

Free Trade Zones Law (Decree 65-89): This law establishes that, by locating a company in one of the existing “Free Trade Zones,” it can enjoy the following benefits: exoneration of the company of customs duties and value added tax (VAT) for all machinery, equipment, furniture, tools and other materials destined mainly for the construction of infrastructure.
