3.Azulik: An eco-luxury resort that doubles as a treehouse, in the forest canopy is a surreal feast for the senses.. This arboreal paradise is a sanctuary for reconnection and wellness. It allows you to completely off the grid with no electricity or wifi. Don?t have $500 dollars to spend for a night?s stay?Check out Azulik?s Kin Toh restaurant which overlooks the picturesque forest. On the menu you?ll find avant-garde Mayan-Mexican cuisine.
4.VenalaLuz(?Come into the Light?): This structure is one of the most sought after sculptures to see in Tulum. The installation was created by Daniel Poppers, who is a South African multidisciplinary artist known globally for his larger-than life sculptures and incredible
public art installations. Constructed for the arts and culture festival, Art with Me, the piece is comprised of wood and rope formed into a female figure. Her torso is filled with lush plants, which creates an archway for visitors to walk through. Step inside and follow the path less traveled to enjoy the ocean and stop by one of the many lounges and hotel bars.
5.Mayan Reefs: A popular attraction here, this experience is great for catching some sunlight and reconnecting with the earth. Stretching over 600 miles, this barrier reef system has a beautiful array of biodiversity that will enchant you. Snorkeling through a world we so rarely get to see was a great way to center myself and appreciate
the world around me. I took a guided tour for this adventure and my guide took us out to an area of abundant wildlife.

A hint that I received from locals when it comes to traveling in this area is to come visit from September through March. During these months the cold fronts come more often and drive the Sargassum algae away, thus creating a crystal clear turquoise that the Caribbean Ocean is known for. However, be mindful that this is also the rainy szn which is present from September to November, especially in the mornings and evenings, clearing up thru mid day hours.
