Scholarship Nomination Form
This scholarship is in memory of Helen Castle, a dedicated and enthusiastic science teacher who tragically died during the Eyre Peninsula bush res in 2005. The Scholarship is designed to assist country science teachers attend the SASTA conference and gain professional development to assist themselves and other country teachers to maintain a high standard of science teaching within country areas.
I am nominating to receive the Helen Castle Memorial Scholarship for 2018 Please indicate the reasons you think the nominee deserves a Scholarship by addressing the Selection Criteria hereunder.
Criterion 1:
The Scholarship is open to all teachers but preference will be given to SASTA members. SASTA Membership Number:

The teacher is currently teaching in a country school (‘country’ for the purpose of this Scholarship is de ned as being an area with a postcode greater than 5200).

The teacher is an inspiring and highly motivating teacher of science, who enthuses and engages students in scienti c learning. Please elaborate with some examples. (Attach extra page(s) if necessary).
Criterion 4:
The teacher has dif culty attending professional development due to the distance of their school from Adelaide.
Please attach principal’s supporting statement, indicating the enthusiasm and engagement in teaching science of the nominee. (Not needed if the principal is nominating the teacher.)
