“My work seeks to display a language based on the process of intuitive
This language creates a surface struggling between what we do not see and that which is seen directly. It involves layering various materials, including acrylics, spray paint, oil sticks, and dry drawing materials to build up a surface with energetic marks, bold colors, and rich textures that serve
as an abstract visual reference to a range of life experiences; a process of layering thoughts, memories, and ideas with sensual materials which motivate the paintings
and displays the evolution of the mark. Working on various surfaces, I am drawn to the unpredictability and the challenge to sustain a work that displays immediacy as well as a methodical and meticulous moment. I create marks and manipulate materials through that layering process to manifest engaging abstract compositions."
