Twilight
The space between husky and wolf, between longing for and shouldn’t have. No-man’s-land
between lovers’ bodies and the thickening dark.
Short corridor of last chances, final flickerings
before moths kamikaze toward cracked street lights and the dull sun,
sucker punched by night, goes down.

Stone is the author of eight books of poetry, including To See What Rises (Word Tech, 2023), Zombies at the Disco (Jacar Press, 2020), Caught in the Myth (NYQ Books, 2019), and Dazzle (Jacar Press, 2017). Her poems have appeared in The Paris Re- view, Poetry, Ploughshares, Barrow Street, Poet Lore, and other journals and anthologies. She’s received Poetry’s Frederick Bock Prize and New York Quarterly’s Madeline Sadin Award.
