“Ihave a fascination with all sorts of materials, especially those that we
frequently use in our daily lives.
Rather than working from a fixed plan, I engage in a tactile and intuitive process, allowing the physical qualities of color, texture, translucency, and flexibility to guide the evolution of each piece. The main material in the forms shown in these works is wire, a material that comes in many thicknesses, strength and degrees of flexibility. Once this structural element is established, comple- mentary materials such as wire mesh, tin, and pattern paper are integrated to develop the character and narrative of the work.”
