Collage, Bridge from Which We Came
stone lithograph with screen-print 33'' x 24''
Maksimiuk is a printmaker working in stone lithography, screen-print and inta- glio. She is a first-generation American born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Her work is driven by the historic promise of the American Dream, urban upheaval and the importance of image as both document and memento. Her process often combines print media, working a fragmented landscape back into existence by sleight of hand. Motivated by love, rage, and adventure by way of endurance, Anita’s prints have been exhibited throughout the US and traveled as far as Kyiv, Ukraine. She received her BFA from New York’s Cooper Union School of Art and her MFA from the University of Arizona. She currently works and teaches printmaking in Tucson, Arizona.
