Schlam’s work is primarily figurative, but she utilizes a number of media, and some in com- bination. She has previously sculpted in glass, ceramic
and wood, and although her current work is primarily two dimensional, she does make use of mixed-media elements. In her latest work, she also has moved more deeply into narrative, and likes to play with visual oxymorons, elaborate patterning and other playful forays.
