Weiss was born and raised in the American South and comes from a family of artists. She received a MFA in Painting and Drawing from Louisiana State University. Weiss has exhibited her work nationally in solo and group shows for the past fifteen years, and is included in numerous United States public and international private collections, as well as in the Hunter Museum permanent collection. She has taught drawing, painting and design at several national universities and has attended artist residencies.
