figures came back to me as we all hunkered down in our homes and studios. This global crisis has created a heightened awareness of mortality and the fragility of life. I’m acutely aware of the increased suffering and stress for everyone. My artistic temperament lends to seclusion, thrives in being ‘isolated,’ so while I’m enjoying the oppor- tunity to spend more time in the studio, the current state of the world is deeply distressing and can’t help but be reflected in my work.”
