 “The rendering and observation of people’s physical, intangible,
is my way of discerning the world around me, as I examine the relationships between how humans exists and how I perceive existence. Working with the figure allows me to illustrate the human condi- tion in another form, and reach for its unexplain- able meaning through honestly telling stories,
be it my own or another’s. Recently, these narra- tives have arisen from my time living and working in Asia, observing the people and culture. I’ve always been intrigued by the people around me because everybody operates differently; what makes one person tick, makes another tock, but we all share commonalities. Working realistically is more than just observing physical qualities—it becomes a discourse that strives to express the inexpressible.”
