In his paintings of abstracted female nudes, BAI seeks to capture the beauty of the female form and simultaneously express strength and femininity.
Using a range of color palettes—burnt Sienna, reddish and dark brown shades, monochromatic grays, blues—he tries to communicate an idea of woman. His por- trayal is in awe of muscular and robust physiques, at times pushing the limits of space within the frame, contorted, and disembodied but never defeated. These modern, ethereal women are rendered with geometric, organic shapes, and contrasting col- ors, going against pictorial flat-
ness. He has created a unique aesthetic using acrylic and oil pastel as he paints from his viv- id impressions and memories. With his portraits and nudes, his painterly style, bold use of color, dark line and an underly- ing mask suggest the merging of painting and sculpture.
