“In my sculptural practice, I confront the fluidity of identity and the enduring effects of displacement,
drawing from my personal experiences growing up in socialist Yugoslavia and later, working as a war reporter during the Balkan conflicts. These early experiences, steeped in the surreal and unstable nature of reality, profoundly inform my artistic exploration of the human condition. My recent work seeks to offer a timeless perspective on the human condition. In this year’s body of work, I strive to capture moments where form is suspended between the familiar and the unknown.
My sculptures examine the boundary between external per- ception and internal reality, inviting viewers to explore both the visible and the unseen aspects of identity. By engaging abstract forms and figurative elements, I provoke a quest for wholeness through the sense of strength and resilience found in vulnerability and imperfection. Visitors are invited to project their own narratives onto fragmented structures and encour- aged to reflect on their own experiences and connections to these universal themes.”
