Colburn is a professional artist and art instructor living and work- ing in Washington, DC. Born in DC, Colburn received a BA in Art History from Franklin & Marshall College, Lancaster, PA; and her MFA and teaching certification from American University, Washington, DC. She received a grant from the Puffin Foundation and attended artist residencies as a Fellow at the Vermont Studio Center; the School of Visual Arts in New York; and at the Muong Artist Residency in Hoa Binh, Vietnam. She was a six-year resident artist at Arlington Arts Center in VA, and now maintains a home studio in Washington, DC. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally, and is in private collections in DC, Virginia, Maryland, Los Angeles, Omaha, Tucson, and Bangkok.
