Learning How to Write with 6 Traits
The Writing Pie is an English writing program for young children of 3rd, 4th, 5th grade.
This program is based on 6 traits of writing: Ideas, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency,
Organization, Voice, Grammar. These 6 traits are considered key elements of writing
and help students recognize writing as a synthetic process which including creativity,
as well as accuracy and fluency. Therefore by learning the basic concept of each
trait, children can develop good abilities to write from early stages. In addition,
students will have real experience to write various styles in this program.

• Supplementary: Teacher’s Manual (Lesson Plan, Additional Explanation &
Activities, and Worksheets for Grammar Included)
