       8:25am – 8:55am Cannabis’ “New” Regulatory Scheme - Environmental Side-Effects of Grow
Operations and the Regulatory Programs that Apply
Cannabis presents environmental regulatory concerns beyond the commonly considered federal vs. state legality and banking issues. The cannabis industry is subject to the alphabet soup of federal,
state, and local regulations concerning the environment. Land use, water use, power use, and chemical use
all bring special considerations for the industry. In addition to regulatory requirements, common law obligations exist, and the legality of the activity may present special concerns. This presentation
will focus on the environmental risks associated with cannabis.
