Align to the Flow of Life
how to uSe thiS CAlendAr
This calendar is an invitation to live in alignment with the universal rhythms of Sun, Moon, nature and cosmos. The months are based on the tropical zodiac Solar months, rather than the conventional Gregorian calendar months. At the start of each new month the Sun moves into a different zodiac sign, and the twelve zodiac months are segmented into the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Included are prompts for goal and intention-setting at the equinox and solstice points, which are times of action and initiation. Each lunar phase is marked on the day that it falls, and a space is given to record New Moon intentions. Eclipses and Mercury retrogrades are indicated, and each day of the week is marked by its Planetary ruler.
hiStoriCAl Context
The Gregorian calendar was introduced by the Catholic church in 1582 as a replacement to the Roman empire’s miscalculated Julian calendar, which replaced a calendar based on the Lunar months. The Gregorian system is a fraction ahead of the true solar year, and will be one day ahead by 4909. The Aligned calendar is a return to a natural and intrinsic way of measuring time. It’s not a construct of one culture’s socio-political agenda, but rather an opportuntiy to live in alignment with the energies that govern the growth cycles of life on Earth. It is a reclamation of the natural wisdom that’s been forgotten and is re-emerging across the globe.
