AUSTRALIAN DEVELOPMENT CAMPS
Based on their performance in the State Performance Program and with our state teams competing at the Australian Junior Nationals throughout the year, 16 athletes from our 2023 state teams have been invited to attend Basketball Australia Camps at the Centre of Excellence in Canberra.
WAIS WOMENS BASKETBALL PROGRAM
In alignment with Basketball Australia and Basketball WA, WAIS operates a daily training environment for women’s basketball.
The program employs a Head Coach with support from the Podium Performance Enhancement Team under the leadership of the Performance Enhancement Team Director – National.
Scholarship athletes have access to coaching and the Performance Enhancement Team covering strength and conditioning and sport science and sports medicine services – physiology, psychology, biomechanics, sports nutrition and physiotherapy and support outside of sport through athlete wellbeing and engagement.

Last year saw the NBA host events all over the world for upcoming and promising junior athletes.
Selections were made through the High-Performance pathways here in Australia and we were lucky enough to have 4 of our athletes invited to events. A great learning and life experience for those hard working a dedicated athletes selected.
