WAIS DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS
Basketball WA, along with the WAIS team continue to work together, to provide a world-class high- performance development program. This program continues to work with our wheelchair athletes and is a vital part of their development. Through this we are able to have a high level of WA athletes and coaches represent at National levels and broaden their experience in international competitions around the world.
END OF AN ERA
In 2023 we celebrated a number of our athletes who called time on their Careers. Australian Gliders Amber Merritt, Georgia Inglis and Natalie Alexander called time on in representing in the green and gold.
Collectively they have represented in every form of Wheelchair events all over the world. They now all are excited to move onto the next chapter in their lives.
We would like to thank Amber, Georgia and Natalie for their commitment, effort, and dedication and for paving the way for future WA female athletes in this sport.

IN MEMORIAM - MURRAY TRESEDER
Murray came to Perth from Victoria in the mid 90’s to coach the Perth Breakers and the Women’s ITC Squad, working across WAIS and Basketball WA. He took the Breakers to the Grand Final in 1998-99, losing to the AIS led by Lauren Jackson. He then took over as National Coach of the Rollers after the Sydney Olympics, leading them to silver in Athens in 2004.
A strong supporter of the female pathway across the ITC squad and the Lynx for over 10 years, Murray helped develop some of WA’s best talent and was a stalwart of female and wheelchair basketball in WA and Australia.
